A healthier you using weight watchers points

The momentum program helps you choose wisely with weight watchers points. The goal of the weight watchers program is to eat smarter, stay full and teach strategies for beating hunger. It teaches how to get more value out of what you eat by making more satisfying choices. It also teaches how to eat smaller portions in your diet plan. This is done by the portion chart located on the food and point chart for each food listed.

Foods such as whole wheat pasta, shrimp, broccoli and tomatoes are considered to be filling foods. Eating these foods will help you to fill full by eating a lessor amount. Each food is listed on a category chart with point values for each food. Beside each food also has the quantity for that food to calculate the point value for that food. You are also allowed 35 Flex points to be used in the quantity you desire each week. Points allowed each day is according to weight. It is done through a calculated formula. Points=(calories/50) + (Fat grams/12) - (Fiber grams/5). After calculation of the formula, you find your points. Less than 150 pounds=20 points, 150 to 174 pounds=22 points, 175 to 199 pounds=24 points, 200 to 224 pounds=26 points, 225 to 250 pounds=28 points and over 250 pounds=30-35 points. These points have to be followed for the diet to take effect and work. They are strictly for you to use as a guide for a better eating habit and diet.

An activity point is also calculated into this plan. They are based on perceived exertion. They base these levels on sweating and breathing levels. Activity points are based on light, moderate and heavy exertion. It is figured by calculating weight x minutes x light (.000232), moderate (.000327) or heavy (.0008077). You need to add your activity points to the day they are exerted. These can be used as part of your Flex points you are allowed each week.

Your first week is like with every other diet system and you lose your biggest weight loss. On the weight watchers points diet one is looking to lose 4-6 pounds the first week and then 1-3 pounds a week continuously after that point. To have these results you have make sure you follow the diet exclusively for the better outcome. If you have a lay off day on your diet make sure you calculate according so your expectations will not be to high for that week for weight loss. This could cause some discouragement because you just plainly forgot of your payday. It is best to keep a diary of all your points for the days and weeks. This can be an encouragement to you and your diet.
